DTHY 301 - An Introduction to Drama Therapy 
 
This course will provide an introduction to the subject and profession of Drama Therapy. It is a prerequisite for entry into the Department of Creative Arts Therapies M.A. Program, Drama Therapy Option. Course content will cover the historical development of Drama Therapy, key processes and a selection of current approaches. The course will include both didactic and experiential components. Workshop classes have educational, not therapeutic goals. Students in the course will not be able to practice drama therapy, engage in student drama therapy work (until matriculated in the Master's Program), or cite this course as professional training in drama therapy. 
 
Prerequisites: 
- second year standing at the bachelor's level (or equivalent); 
- Introduction to Psychology (or equivalent); 
- 6 credits in Theatre or equivalent.

Independent Students: 
(one needs to establish this status when not enrolled at another university in Quebec) 
1. Present yourself at the Office of the Registrar's Student Information Services, room S-LB 185 to obtain Independent student status and ID number; 
2. Provide your ID number to CATs Administrative Assistant, who will enter permission for you to register in the Student Information System. 
 
It is the student's responsibility to register for this undergraduate course.
